Day 1:
Arrival at Nicaragua International Airport. Meet & Greet follow by a Tour of the city of Managua
Depending on the day a Cultural Show to enjoy live Nicaraguan music at Casa Mejia Godoy can be included. Overnight at Managua

Day 2:
Breakfast. Private guided Transfer to Selva Negra – lunch included.
15:00 – Coffee Lovers Tours

This comprehensive and sustainable experience turns coffee enthusiasts into coffee experts! Jump in a truck with your local expert and visit the plantation to see the coffee trees, the Coffee Cherries learn during the visit about the coffee harvest season, the process of drying, roasting ending with the coffee packing. Witness the sustainable efforts made at Selva Negra Estate Farm and what a best way to close the visit than with a cup of coffee processed at the estate.

Day 3:
Breakfast -Tour to San Rafael del Norte – Explore & learn the importance of the town during Sandino’s time. Visit the church with the famous Daniel Ortega “devil fresco”. Overnight at Jinotega or Matagalpa Area

 

Day 4:
Breakfast. Your day will be full of different experiences of Nicaraguan History. First a visit to the Chorotega Museum in which you will have the chance to enjoy more than 1000 pieces of Pre Columbian Indigenous art that varies from 500BC and 500 AC. Continue your day to the colonial city of Leon where you will see the main churches including the monumental cathedral, the largest in Central America, located at the main square. You will also see the birdhouse of Ruben Dario, the “Ortiz Gurdian” art gallery. During the walking experience learn about Nicaragua’s passions for liberty and poetry that have been in full force for more than a century and one of the hardest fought battles of the revolution of 1979

Day 5:
After Breakfast you will continue to the Ruins of Old Leon – Declared in 2000 World Heritage site of Human kind 2002 by UNESCO. After lunch visit the colonial city of Granada founded by Captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba in the year 1524. It was founded next to the Mombacho volcano and the great lake of Nicaragua. Named after the city of Granada in Spain, this city has plenty of colonial churches, narrow streets and large homes with beautiful indoor patios, tiled roofs and pretty colonial colors. You will have the opportunity to walk around the main plaza to see “La Merced” church, the house of the Zamora family, the famous “Casa de Los Tres Mundos” and the San Francisco convent. Here, you will have the opportunity to see and take pictures of mysterious idols made by our ancestors. This is an impressive collection of genuine pre-Columbian sculptures in human and animal shapes. During the tour we will learn the history of the city, and about the adventures of filibuster William Walker, who invaded the city in the year 1855. Ending your day with a relaxing boat trip to observe the migrations of birds among others..

Day 6:
Breakfast. Your day will start with a visit to Masaya Volcano National Park. Our vehicle will go up to the hill and within only a few steps you will see the impressive Santiago crater, active since 1946. Learn from your local expert how the Aratinga Strenua manages to live in the toxic crater walls as well as the history of the Spanish priests who explored the volcano and the superstitious beliefs held by the natives who inhabited the area. Just fifteen minutes away you will visit the Masaya arts and crafts market for local ceramics, hammocks, wood and leather souvenirs.

After lunch continue to the highlands in the pacific region of Nicaragua, where you can find some of picturesque “white towns”. Your experience will go through some of these towns making strategic stops in the most interesting places. You will learn and see firsthand how people make bamboo baskets, furniture and nurseries with beautiful flowers. Today is a great opportunity get to know the Nicaraguan’s character, personality and way of life.

Day at Leisure to enjoy the city on your own

Transfer from Granada city to International Airport at Managua or you may want to extend your stay at any of the recommend beaches
